2017 — what a year! Our family grew by one, with the addition of our son Esser. I spent the summer painting in Teton Village, created many paintings and even went snowshoeing! It was major… let’s take it from the top, with a time warp back to January…
2015 was so huge, it took me until mid-January to post the year-in-review! The game changer? On February 5th, at 7:45AM, Vega arrived aquatically in our Manhattan living room… joining Erin, Coraline and me. One month later, she had a passport and was living in The Bahamas… we then left Manhattan, moved to Minnesota, then to Jackson Hole, and back to Minnesota…
I’ve wanted to paint The Dude for years… literally. Though, somehow, the timing never seemed right… until now. I’m on a streak of guilty pleasure canvases, and I don’t want the good times to end. Jeff Bridges and the Coen Brothers created a masterpiece and all-time cult classic with The Big Lebowski. And, let’s be honest, he has been painted by at least seven hundred thousand other artists… but to worry about that would be very un-Dude, and as an ordained Dudeist Minister, I gotta keep my mind, you know, limber.
When I was commissioned by Matt and Allison to create a Jackson Hole-inspired painting, they wanted me to experience things for myself, so it was wheels up, next stop Wyoming.
