Please allow me to introduce this portrait of my friend Shane Fleming. This work was commissioned for his birthday by his fabulous bride, Lorre — we’ve had some amazing times with these guys, on the golf course and beyond.

When the 2020 Masters Tournament was postponed until the fall… I decided to paint Golden Bell, and stream the process on Facebook. In 2021… I jumped to Azalea… again, streaming the process live.
With 2022 in the cross-hairs, I reached out to Mr. Jeff Victor at Circa to see if I could set-up shop at Stadium Swim to paint White Dogwood. When confirmed, we packed up the entire family, borrowed a dope whip (thank you Kurt and Debbie) — and set-off for Vegas.

Twenty Twenty Fun... a look at Borbay's 2021, from Coronavirus to Mother Ginger.

Inflation is upon us, and I’ve taken note. Last month, I shipped a painting — the timeline for delivery (and price) doubled! Nevertheless, around the holidays, I love to take care of my collectors… so, until November 15th — I’m offering free global shipping on existing work.
As for commissions? I am signing contracts through the end of the year, but will not be available to begin new works until February/March 2022.
Thank you for the love and support through, yet, another unusual year.
Back in 2018, I created a painting of the 15th hole at Teton Springs, which was reproduced as the bag-tag for our member-guest tournament. That weekend, the now Bronze Buffalo Sporting Club at Teton Springs, hosted an art exhibit showcasing my portraits.
During the reception, I struck up a conversation with a gentleman named Stan Pajerski. He was interested in a portrait, so I snapped some photos… and, well? The rest is history…
Will ‘The Masters’ body of work become the next ‘Guggenheim Series‘? It’s the perfect marriage of art, performance (live streams) and my love of the game (six triples in my 2021 debut for a sterling 98).
Time will tell… for now? Let’s dig into the process of behind bad boy.
2020 is here… and so is my first signed painting — the ‘White Horse Tavern’. For those of you with literary passion… the ghost of Dylan Thomas lives here.
And, in case you haven’t heard — the White Horse is now owned by Eytan Sugarman — a gentleman I’ve come to know since beginning this piece. I’m looking forward to kicking-it with Eytan at this iconic NYC institution, drink in hand.
Care to join me on a time lapse journey? Here’s sending lots of love to MH the Verb for the 🔥 soundtrack. Call me biased, but I’m partial to those with a ‘Borbay in their hallway’ — I also enjoy imported bottles of vodka from Norway.

Another newsletter? You got that right. I'll honor and respect your inbox, as if it were my own. I endeavor to share everything happening at Borbay Studios & Gallery. No daily updates. No weekly updates. Simply a message, every month or two... updates on life, creativity, and the journey that began on July 2, 2009. Let's be in touch, as the first leg of my quest reaches completion in 2026. From a studio in my 600-foot Upper East Side apartment living room, to a museum collection. Oh, but friend, that is just the beginning. The road is long, and I am looking for cool, sophisticated company to navigate each challenging turn.
