White Dogwood Live Painted at Circa’s Stadium Swim During The Masters

White Dogwood Masters Painting by Borbay

When the 2020 Masters Tournament was postponed until the fall… I decided to paint Golden Bell, and stream the process on Facebook. In 2021… I jumped to Azalea… again, streaming the process live.

With 2022 in the cross-hairs, I reached out to Mr. Jeff Victor at Circa to see if I could set-up shop at Stadium Swim to paint White Dogwood. When confirmed, we packed up the entire family, borrowed a dope whip (thank you Kurt and Debbie) — and set-off for Vegas.

When it comes to offices, I submit my four-day stint at Stadium Swim for the title of “best in the world”.

It didn’t take long for me to realize my Irish was showing… so I picked-up this sweet hat and a can of SPF 4,000,000. Absent these important necessities, I’d be uniquely qualified to host at the Red Lobster.

The painting began with a rough sketch and a dark under-painting. When I jumped in, it was all about nailing down the sky, trees, and blocking out the green. I attacked the sky with some graffiti-inspired marks, and quite enjoyed the result. Here, the piece looks magical with some back lighting.

I worked separate groves of trees, alternating between Seurat stipples and Bob Ross beauties. Adding a magenta under-painting for the final bits of forest was fabulously fantastic. For real.

Circa brings the signage heat… and I LOVE IT. Really appreciate the teams social media and design talent… and, I must mention — the Stadium Swim team treated me like royalty… thank you one and all!

Oh baby, this is the point where I’m beginning to smell the finish. And you know what? It always smells delicious… this time, with a touch of sunscreen. The yellow trees really popped… as did the flowers.

Down to the wire… all that remained were the final details. Sidebar, congratulations to Rory McIlroy on his sensational final round.

And boom! “White Dogwood”, 40″X40″X1.5″, Acrylic on Belgian Linen. Thank you Mr. Stevens, Mr. Victor, Stadium Swim, Circa Las Vegas and the entire team for hosting me — it was beyond amazing! Congratulations Scottie Scheffler on the big W and a fabulous new Green Jacket.

And 2020’s Golden Bell. The style continues to evolve.

But wait… here are some additional snaps from a sensational adventure…

Borbay Wig

Hanging with Vegas Vickie at The Legacy Club… a common theme as you are about to see.

What’s with the wigs? Well, Matt, Brandy, Patrick, Haley and yours truly wanted to support TJ Miller during his stand-up set. Of course, everyone though we were Bob Ross, which was fitting.

My super hot wife with Vegas Vickie…

And some smooches, because Vickie is for lovers.

And here I am, rocking out with Piers, one of my partners in NFToftheART. Oh, and by the way… we will be announcing the Vegas Vickie NFT launch date very soon. We missed you Conor!

We took some time to check the fabulous Neon Museum… the kids loved it. Moments later, Esser was completely covered in the white dirt you see below our feet. Oh, remember the Sahara?

Absolutely love this picture of Coraline and me. She was taking some amazing photos all afternoon.

That little brass baby followed me home from Belgium and settled-in at The D. The kids thought he was cool… and, we were en route to The Donut Bar… hence the big smiles.

We had a fantastic evening of swimming and BBQ with Jeff…

…and Sheila. Thank you for the amazing hospitality, delicious food and snuggles! So grateful.

We made our way from Vegas down to Scottsdale… we did some hiking, boating, swimming, dining out… and, really just had the best trip.

I suppose the question remains — which hole should I paint during the 2023 Masters?
