When I was a kid, I built a proton pack out of Construx, and fired vigorously into the clouds on an overcast day. My inspiration? Dr. Peter Venkman… a scientist that didn’t suck. So, 28 years later, I paid homage to one of my favorite characters (and actor) with this painting: Dr. Bill Venkman.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
NEW YORK, NY – April 2, 2012 — Creator of the #KingsOfHipHop and Time Out Magazine’s Most Creative New Yorker, Borbay, is now showcasing four prints in the Major League Baseball Fan Cave. Justin Theroux as Adam Kesher from Mulholland Drive by David Lynch. That’s all you really need to know… huge fan of the actor, character, movie and director. The palette is guided by the movies strong sense of blue.

Certain cinematic characters grab you, and resonate for years. Daniel Day Lewis‘ brilliant turn as Bill The Butcher in Gangs of New York is one of them.
2011 began true and proper with HOV… a work of art, a Warhol (already). He was both the first of my #KingsOfHipHop, and the first painting of the year.

No weekly updates. Simply a message, every month or two... updates on life, creativity, and the journey that began on July 2, 2009. Let's be in touch, as the first leg of my quest reaches completion in 2026. From a studio in my 600-foot Upper East Side apartment living room, to a museum collection. Oh, but friend, that is just the beginning. The road is long, and I am looking for cool, sophisticated company to navigate each challenging turn.
