Snow King Motel Glowing Neon Sign Painting
Bar Fedora Neon Sign Painting

The neon train continues with this 14″X18″ canvas of Fedora — a West Village staple (now gratuity free).
This painting wasn’t going to happen. I was focused on moving our family from Minnesota to Idaho, when I completed packing five days early. A blank canvas taunts a painter like a blank page tortures the writer — so, I got to work.
Apollo Theater Painting by Borbay

Manhattan inspiration found me once again… And, so, before I move to Idaho — I’d like to share my depiction of The World Famous Apollo Theater.
A Commissioned Painting of Jesus

Through a fortuitous introduction, I met Thane Stenner in Montreal. Following a presentation about my work, process and business model — we sat down for a long talk about life and art. Little did I know, this conversation would pave the way for a long term creative engagement. Thane had a vision — a commissioned painting of Jesus, with an emphasis on the concept of radiance.
Portrait Of The Artist As A Married Father Of Two

Allow myself, to introduce, myself. I’m delighted to share the first painting of 2016… A self portrait… my first since 2010.
2015 — Borbay’s Year In Review

2015 was so huge, it took me until mid-January to post the year-in-review! The game changer? On February 5th, at 7:45AM, Vega arrived aquatically in our Manhattan living room… joining Erin, Coraline and me. One month later, she had a passport and was living in The Bahamas… we then left Manhattan, moved to Minnesota, then to Jackson Hole, and back to Minnesota…
Coraline And The Mighty Tetons In Jackson Hole

It was a magical three months in Jackson Hole. The country was gorgeous, and inspiration ran deep. Early in our adventure, we took a trip to Teton National Park… there, I captured a moment of Coraline taking in the majestic Tetons.
Kenneth Francis Begasse Collage Painting by Borbay

I had the great honor of painting the late Kenneth Francis Begasse’s portrait. Affectionately known as “Senior”, the piece was commissioned by Michael Sanzen, partner at Concentric Healthcare Experience, as a gift for Senior’s family. The work and process were transformed into a beautiful mural, which was unveiled at their TriBeCa headquarters last week.
Four Seasons, Jackson Hole — The View, On Canvas

I had the honor of painting this view from the Four Seasons Jackson Hole, as their Artist-In-Residence. The canvas itself is 10″X20″. The medium? Acrylic.

No weekly updates. Simply a message, every month or two... updates on life, creativity, and the journey that began on July 2, 2009. Let's be in touch, as the first leg of my quest reaches completion in 2026. From a studio in my 600-foot Upper East Side apartment living room, to a museum collection. Oh, but friend, that is just the beginning. The road is long, and I am looking for cool, sophisticated company to navigate each challenging turn.
