Dear Friends, Family, Collectors and Fans, 2015 has been momentous. On February 5th, at 7:45AM, Vega Keanne joined our Family. On the easel? I’ve painted The Lincoln Memorial, a second Mindscape, and several new commissions. Beyond the studio? I’m now a contributing writer with Forbes. Four days after my second Daughter, Vega Keanne, was born, I began a new ‘Mindscape’ painting. It began with a free-hand, free-association line drawing. Once the drawing was completed, I painted colors devoid of specific thought. The experience is both cathartic and exciting.

The Lincoln Memorial — A Collage Painting by Borbay

Henry Bacon’s Lincoln Memorial delivers a theatrical synergy between art and architecture. The terrace walls and lower steps comprise granite blocks from Massachusetts – the upper steps, exterior facade, and columns contain marble blocks from Colorado – the interior walls and columns are Indiana limestone – the floor is pink Tennessee marble – the ceiling tiles are Alabama marble – and the Lincoln statue comprises 28 pieces of Georgia marble.

Brilliant retailers created Black Friday in the early 2000’s — the idea? Offer ridiculous sales to generate a frenzy of opportunistic buyers. On Thursday you give thanks. On Friday, you beat up your neighbor for cheap Spanx… and a flatscreen. Not to be outdone by it’s food court counterparts, in 2005 the online retailers said, “Have your Black Friday, we’ll offer Cyber Monday with better deals and free delivery.”
