Allow myself, to introduce, myself. I’m delighted to share the first painting of 2016… A self portrait… my first since 2010.

Allow myself, to introduce, myself. I’m delighted to share the first painting of 2016… A self portrait… my first since 2010.

2015 was so huge, it took me until mid-January to post the year-in-review! The game changer? On February 5th, at 7:45AM, Vega arrived aquatically in our Manhattan living room… joining Erin, Coraline and me. One month later, she had a passport and was living in The Bahamas… we then left Manhattan, moved to Minnesota, then to Jackson Hole, and back to Minnesota…

Every month or so, I fire off updates from the studio. Here is the latest… if you’d like to receive these directly, just let me know.

I spent the first 8 years of my adult life in the Upper East Side… so, it would seem fitting that my first painting started and completed in Minnesota would be this Upper East Side Town House. The source image was captured on the 4th of July… two days after my Independence Day — clandestine all around.

Our nomadic adventure began in two waves… Erin, Coraline and Vega flew to Minnesota with Kelsey on July 2nd — just in time for a family reunion in Iowa. I remained in NY to pack…

It was a beautiful two days painting alongside Gramercy Park. Not only did I explore a new stylistic approach, the Mayor of Gramercy Park — Arlene Harrison said hello, I had a traffic cop flash me his nipple, a dog peed on my easel bag, another dog left me a steaming treat, and, most pleasantly, I ran into Lisa and Co for extemporaneous cocktails in the park.

In 2009, I decided to paint The Guggenheim for twenty years, each summer, from the same corner, on the same size canvas, with the sole variable being my style. This is Guggenheim 5… the latest of my recent futurist works, joining the Seattle Space Needle, Central Park South, Sutton Place, Welcome to Las Vegas Sign and The Bellagio.

Allow me to introduce my latest portrait: the man, the legend, Bono. This collage painting was commissioned by Lynn Serra, and contains many personal details within the canvas.

No weekly updates. Simply a message, every month or two... updates on life, creativity, and the journey that began on July 2, 2009. Let's be in touch, as the first leg of my quest reaches completion in 2026. From a studio in my 600-foot Upper East Side apartment living room, to a museum collection. Oh, but friend, that is just the beginning. The road is long, and I am looking for cool, sophisticated company to navigate each challenging turn.
