Take a look at this beautiful video created by talented artist and teacher Lora Sanders. Each year Lora’s students create work in the Borbay style, using my online process as a guideline. The video tells the tale… so I’ll let it do the talking.

Iona College Art Exhibition, Gratiffyti: Seslow & Borbay, Opening Reception Photos
While Joe Flacco and Tom Brady were busy exchanging sacked lunches, Ryan Seslow and yours truly were hosting the opening reception for Street Legal Gratiffyti: Seslow & Borbay on Canvas at Iona College. The opening was a smashing success, thanks to Iona College, Madalyn Barbero and the entire team.
2011 Borbay’s Year In Review on Canvas and Beyond
2011 began true and proper with HOV… a work of art, a Warhol (already). He was both the first of my #KingsOfHipHop, and the first painting of the year.

Last night, I had the pleasure of joining a truly talented group to pay tribute to a wonderful charity: HopeForThem. Musicians, artists, St Germain and a crack team joined forces at Gallery 151 to provide entertainment, raise money and gather toys for the children of Haiti.
Painting Process | Brad Pitt as Mickey O’Neil in Snatch

Introducing piece number two in my kick-ass actors in sweet movies I love series: Brad Pitt as Mickey O’Neil, from Guy Ritchie’s Snatch. This still was taken from the scene where Turkish and Tommy the Tit make a bet with Mickey (right about 2:15 in) over hare coursing. Sadly for the boxing promoters, the hare is not proper fucked.
Painting Process | Hunter S. Depp A Portrait of Two Men on One Canvas

If I am in the studio painting, I’m watching movies — all day long. One of my all-time favorites is Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas… as it happens, so I decided to capture both Johnny Depp and Hunter S. Thompson as one. Both of these creative gents have brought me a great deal of enjoyment, so I figured why not ride this strange torpedo out to the end?

Getting married was the finest experience of my life… and it has everything to do with my bride — Erin. Her folks, Jeanne and Tom, hosted our dream wedding in their Minnetonka, Minnesota backyard this past July. I couldn’t think of a better moment to capture than this image of my wife smiling in the backyard where she grew up and where we were married.

Here is the second painting in my Larchmont, New York commissioned series for the wonderful Hoffman family. This particular 24″X30″ canvas is painted from the perspective of sitting in the hot tub… and is aptly entitled, “Laura’s Favorite Place”.
