A Portrait of Patricia Barganier
I’m excited and honored to share this collage-painting portrait of dear friend, and collector — Patricia Barganier. We met during my first exhibition in Jackson many years ago, and became fast friends… bonding over our mutual love of art, family, Jackson Hole, fine cocktails, entrepreneur-ism and living life to the fullest.
When we decided to collaborate on this project, we spent a great deal of time choosing the perfect source image. After careful review — this became the clear favorite… and, we decided on a timeless black-and-white palette. From there, I interviewed Tricia about her life, dreams and goals — this helped us select the headlines and images. From there? The paint did fly.

A Portrait of Jay Aydinalp-Mathews
Allow me to introduce my latest — a commissioned portrait of Jay Aydinalp-Mathews. Father, husband, brother, son, musician, writer, Donkey-league’r, world traveler, survivor, warrior — and a man committed to L-I-V-I-N.

Here is how this painting came to be in a time lapse video, featuring the man himself, in his band — Twin Star Rocket. Now, let’s take an in-depth look at the process and meaning behind this work-of-art…
The London Eye — A Commissioned Gift
My first trip outside of the US was to London… my brother, Tim, lived there… this city holds a special place in my heart. So, you can imagine how stoked I was to be commissioned by Randi and David Wender to create this painting as a gift for their newlywed friends — Lara and Neil (congratulations!)

A Tale of Two Sahara’s, ala Vintage Las Vegas
I ran my first (and only) marathon in Las Vegas. We celebrated Erin’s 30th Birthday in Sin City. Since 2011, I’ve painted in the land of neon seven times.
So, you can imagine the stoke factor, when Kevin Barry Fine Art commissioned me to paint The Sahara two times!

A Collage Portrait of Doctor Robert I. Schattner
I had the great honor of being commissioned by the Robert I. Schattner Foundation, to create a collage painting of the late Doctor Robert I. Schattner. From humble beginnings, Dr. Schattner went on to invent, and sell, Chloraseptic. From there, he carefully charted stocks, and steadily built a portfolio that ultimately made him a 51% shareholder of Hancock, and one of the wealthiest people in Washington. Today, the University of Pennsylvania’s Dental School bears his name.
Dr. Schattner’s journey is explored in this painting.

A Portrait Of Trevor Gillies
My neighborhood on Long Island was fiercely divided. Neighbors took sides, and this animus bled into the streets… during roller hockey games. You were either an Islanders fan, or a Rangers fan — never both. I was, and remain, the former. During the 2009 season, a familiar name hit the ice — Trevor Gillies. He quickly became a fan favorite, and remained that way, even when the Coliseum faithful found out, he wasn’t, in fact, related to the legend — Clark Gillies.
How did this portrait come to be? During our first summer in Teton Valley, we attended a charity event at Teton Springs. There, I met a gentleman named Michael. As it happens, Erin and I found out the gender of our third child that evening, so Michael took me to the clubhouse for a celebratory shot of Jam-O. During our chat, I confessed my love for hockey, and he revealed the name of his brother-in-law — Trevor Gillies. And so, the wheels were set in motion…
Here is a look at the entire creative process, in time lapse. The track, Powerful Vibes (feat. Dolio The Sleuth, GR Stone & Stewie), has been provided by MH the Verb… run, don’t walk, to his website and buy his new album — Afronaut… yes, I painted the album cover.
And now… on to the process, with more about the story behind this new painting.
Howdy Stranger Yonder Is Jackson Hole Sign Painting
Howdy Stranger! I’d like to introduce my latest painting…
You can experience a version of this beautiful sign at the top of Teton Pass. Another once graced the Jackson Hole Airport exit… alas, the times, they are a’changin.
Would you like to see the entire painting come together in one minute? Fantastic! Do read on for a detailed, step-by-step process analysis.
The Neon Guggenheim, aka Guggenheim #8 of 20
In the summer of 2009, I painted the Guggenheim on a 30″X30″ canvas and practically sold it on the street. In 2010, I longed to paint the Gugg once more… but it felt wrong. Opportunistic.
Unless? I wondered… if I made a more serious commitment. And with that, I decided to paint a 30″X30″ Guggenheim, each summer, for 20 years. Today, I’m proud to share Guggenheim #8 — “The Neon Guggenheim”. Fittingly, this painting will debut at The National Arts Club in November, for the Accessible Art Fair.
MH the Verb sent me “Good Morning”, and, well, I couldn’t cut a single beat… so this video is long, strong and down to put the acrylic on. From MH, “‘Good Morning‘ perfectly exemplifies the collaborative style ArtHouse95 is all about. I produced the track featuring live bass from engineer, Dave Humes and layered drums. It’s pure Hip Hop… digging crates for the perfect sample, chopping the jazzy groove, and linking with two of Philadelphia’s most lyrical emcees – Drusef and Mic Stew. We wrote the song during a cloudy studio session a couple years ago while reflecting on our daily grind and ambition as artists. The homie, Kuf Knotz even had to make a guest appearance at the end. Overall, when the beat drops after the intro, you can feel the energy build… I just can’t wait for people to hear what comes next.
Enjoy… and do read on for an unusual painting recap.
