So I post on Facebook this evening that I want to see the Rangers game; last minute, of course.
Moments later, friend, teammate and social maverick Brian Ries (yes, that Brian) responds, after some trepidation over clothing… “let’s do it.”
Quickly abandoning my stoic elliptical workout, it became a classic (not tired) Ferris type of rush to the bar for a shot and a beer (I literally ran from 42nd and Park), followed by a second effort to Madison Square Garden.
We get there only to be held up in the underbelly of the MSG beast, waiting for the National Anthem to majestically expire (we both took off our hats). Finally arriving in the awesome seats Brian found — the puck drops. Three seconds later… (endure the ad, it’s worth it — Dear NHL, feeble ads lose the fans of tomorrow).
Sometimes, life does imitate art… Slapshot style.
Clandestine. We even met up with Nick Mahoney… to be continued.

Another newsletter? You got that right. I'll honor and respect your inbox, as if it were my own. I endeavor to share everything happening at Borbay Studios & Gallery. No daily updates. No weekly updates. Simply a message, every month or two... updates on life, creativity, and the journey that began on July 2, 2009. Let's be in touch, as the first leg of my quest reaches completion in 2026. From a studio in my 600-foot Upper East Side apartment living room, to a museum collection. Oh, but friend, that is just the beginning. The road is long, and I am looking for cool, sophisticated company to navigate each challenging turn.
You're here, and I love you for it.
