If an artist paints a beautiful picture, and nobody sees it, is it still beautiful? Friend and fellow artist Ari Lankin passed along this snippet from an interview between Hans-Ulrich Obrist and artist Ryan Gander which I must address.

Painting Process | Bryant Park Grill for The Garrick’s
My brother’s best friend of 20 years got married this weekend, so I decided to commemorate this special moment with a painting of The Bryant Park Grill. There, Chris and Ann exchanged vows — and I, amongst many other guests, enjoyed several adult beverages. Understatement.
Sheep Meadow Painting and New Yawk Tee
Here is a view of my most recent location painting, Sheep Meadow with George Steinbrenner Keeping an Eye on Things. Here is the process post with a hastily assembled video. And, I am happy to report my sweet New Yawk Tee has arrived!
Painting Process | Chester Country Estate PLUS Littleville Fair Pics
Erin and I spent the weekend chillaxin in Chester Massachusetts, population: few. We stayed in this sweet country house, which has the feel of a cabin, yet handles like a full blown house. Apple’s stock finally surpassed the mighty Microsoft, to the chagrin of Steve Ballmer no doubt. But wait, now there is a huge security flaw with the iPad… oh, and Steve Jobs thinks Flash is garbage. And Obama thinks the iPad is a major distraction – he told some recent college grads.
Painting Process | My America, The United States of Today
Standing before a blank 3’X5′ wall of canvas, a rush of memories and emotions crept up from the far reaches of my brain. To date, I have driven across the country five times, lived on both coasts and spent a summer pounding massive G&T’s at 8000 feet. A pebble cracked my windshield in Texas, five miles from my destination after driving 2000 consequence free miles. In Oklahoma, I went to dinner at the only diner in the town of Arbuckle, where the marquee read, “Happy Birthday Edna Arbuckle.” My gauge hit 130MPH in Montana.
