Introducing the 10th Guggenheim in my 20-year-series… aptly titled, “Guggenheim 10”.
By all accounts — this painting was a journey. After kicking-off the under-painting of this piece in June, I noticed the canvas was warped, so I slashed it to bits, and started over. Following that, I found myself traveling around the world… Vegas, Paris, Antwerp, Amsterdam… then, I received a beautiful wave of commissions. As a result… this piece took much longer than anticipated.

My intention was to create a clean piece, showcasing Walt Longmire on his horse in front of the Guggenheim. After a while, I realized the piece was boring… so, I allowed myself to risk demolition, and attacked with some oil sticks, purchased upstate New York nearly a decade ago on a trip with Jeremy Penn.
In accordance with this unusual process… my camera, storing most of the process images was destroyed… and so, we have something new. Something unusual. Guggenheim #10… ten more to go, and my series is complete!
