Painting Process | Welcome To Las Vegas Sign | UPDATED
Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas, Nevada!
For years, this sign has been on my painting hit list. Finally, on an absurdly hot and windy pair of April Days in Vegas it went down, and it was weird.
Painting Process | Duane Park TriBeCa New York Commission
Metropolitan Museum of Art Painting
It took me two years of being a full-time artist to understand how a single painting could span multiple years. Sure, some large-scale works just take time. Others, like in the case of the Metropolitan Museum of Art — I simply looked at it for 18 months and simply determined it was finished. After the jump, the full process as written in 2009.
Painting Process | The Depot Minneapolis

Painting Process | Spoonbridge and Cherry

Painting Process | Minnetonka Flowers
On a bright, sunny Minnesotan day – I set up my easel in the Hessel yard to paint some flowers. Not my typical subject matter, but I needed to sharpen the dagger for Tuesday’s main event – the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden at the Walker Art Center, downtown Minneapolis.
Process Painting | Hérmes Madison Avenue
A weekend stroll down Madison Avenue revealed a building elegantly wrapped in an orange box. Returning with my easel, I decided to paint, what I later found out was the new Hérmes Men’s Store.
