Warhol Portrait Auctions for 38.4MM: Market Perspective For Collectors
New York, NY – May 12, 2011 — Last night, a four panel (40″X32″ collectively) self-portrait of Andy Warhol auctioned at Christie’s for $38.4 Million Dollars. As seen in BlackBook and Max’s Kansas City, Atelier Klimat‘s opening reception began at 7PM and carried on late into a stormy Manhattan evening that saw lightening strike the Empire State Building thrice. A terribly good-looking crowd braved said storm to soak up the art and atmosphere of Klimat, a premier East Village establishment.
