Two Year Anniversary of Being a Professional Artist
Exactly two years ago, I declared my independence and became a full-time “Professional Location Artist” my longest career to-date. Since then, I’ve had the honor of being named Time Out New York’s Most Creative New Yorker 2009, secured and delivered over 50 commissions, painted 162 canvases, and created on-location in Manhattan, Milan, Chicago, Minnesota, Las Vegas and Jamaica.
Painting Process | Old Bay by Borbay
A good idea is a good idea, so when George Malley suggested I paint the Old Bay Seasoning can, I was all about it. It took one copy of the Baltimore Sun sent from Maryland and almost a year, but the painting is now complete. For these tastebuds, Old Bay is like candy, enhancing the flavor of anything it touches.

Beyond being one of my favorite places in the city, this will allow me to see my style progression in a consistent way. After the jump, process shots of The Guggenheim #3.

Painting Process | Doctor DRE ala NWA
At first, he went by Dr. J — inspired by his basketball hero, Julius Erving (my Dad played high school ball against him). After receiving a Masters in Mixology, Andre Young became a Doctor.
