Last Summer, a gentleman by the name of Owen Wallis put me in touch with Adam Montandon who was writing a book about a place. An awesome place. This book, The Awesome Department, has just been published.

Last night, I hit up Sidewalk Cafe to live paint “BalloonUP presents THE SPIN”. Taking images sent in advance, I created a living collage of the action.

Something new. Something different. For reasons I can not yet share, I was presented with the opportunity to create a large scale painting of an African landscape. Based on four different photographs, I cobbled together a composition on this 48″X60″ canvas.

In 2009, I decided to paint The Guggenheim for twenty years, each summer, from the same corner, on the same size canvas, with the sole variable being my style. This is Guggenheim 5… the latest of my recent futurist works, joining the Seattle Space Needle, Central Park South, Sutton Place, Welcome to Las Vegas Sign and The Bellagio.

During Broadway Bares Las Vegas, Josh Strickland won my painting created live at Planet Hollywood. This year, however, before host Scott Nevins brought down the gavel, Director and recent “Mr. Abbott” Award Winner Jerry Mitchell, matched Strickland’s bid, asking if I would recreate the painting for him.
