Fall is around the corner, and there is much to report! So, relax, grab a coffee, splash in some Buca and enjoy.
1. LA Mag Prints Perch Painting
My Hollywood hightail has been inked by Los Angeles Magazine. This Perch Painting placement was the icing on an already delicious cake. In a former life, I met with Cameron Diaz at CAA to discuss a project the experience inspired this. Big changes in life and style. Any suggestions for my next LA-infused work? Speaking of:
- Friend and Collaborator Jeremy Penns show is tearing-up Hollywood
While painting adjacent to Gramercy Park, I decided to ditch the script and explore. Heres the result dig the new style? Did I mention while painting, a cop flashed his nipple, a dog peed on my bag and I met the Mayor of Gramercy Park.

3. Brad and Angelina, Married Canvases
After nine years, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have tied the knot. Topical, as I recently completed a commission of Jolie to join Brad in the same collection together in life together in art. Oh, and the Jolie process video featuring MH the Verbs song Coraline has nearly 4,000 views (just a few billion shy of the World Record).
A TV show about Hannibal? Sounded preposterous to me until I tuned-in. I was commissioned to paint Mads Mikkelsen as the erudite cannibal a bonus? New collector, Michelle Kenneth, penned a beautiful piece about the process.
Thanks to Zack OMalley Greenburg, I was invited to play in the famed Artists Writers Celebrity Softball game in the Hamptons. Despite primarily riding the pine, I was featured taking cuts on this Newsday video (:45 in). Also
- MichaelMania is sweeping Italy
- Im off to Canada next week, heres how I lost a bet with the Cup Keeper
- My personal collection now includes a Robert Mars
- Want a Borbay?
Finally: Nucky Thompson and a painting of the Long Island City Pepsi Sign are up next. Thank you for being here.

Another newsletter? You got that right. I'll honor and respect your inbox, as if it were my own. I endeavor to share everything happening at Borbay Studios & Gallery. No daily updates. No weekly updates. Simply a message, every month or two... updates on life, creativity, and the journey that began on July 2, 2009. Let's be in touch, as the first leg of my quest reaches completion in 2026. From a studio in my 600-foot Upper East Side apartment living room, to a museum collection. Oh, but friend, that is just the beginning. The road is long, and I am looking for cool, sophisticated company to navigate each challenging turn.
You're here, and I love you for it.
