It’s Summer Time, which means Vitamin D, Antiheroes and Guggenheim #6. Here are the simmering updates… enjoy… thank you for being here.
1. 6 Down, 14 To Go
In 2009, my first painting as a professional artist was The Guggenheim. One Gugg was good, but not quite good enough — so I decided to paint the Guggenheim each year for 20 years. Here is year #6, entitled “Pink Guggenheim”. But wait! There’s more:
- The Guggenheim Series
- Gothamist piece forecasts a Guggy-Blacklist
- Wright’s vision was in fact pink

2. Don’t Be Mad Man, It’s Just Draper
Don Draper has arrived. The composition captures our pro-antagonist coyly smoking a cigarette following a date-destroying run-in with soon-to-be colleague Ted Shaw. Here’s pulling for Jon Hamm to (finally) win an Emmy. Up next in the Antihero Series? The Busc!

3. From My Perch
Last week I was up to some secret business in Chicago… the week before? Los Angeles. Fortunately I got in touch with the fine people at Perch pre-LAX, the result? Hollywood wasn’t all pools, partying and posturing… Upon arrival, I set-up my easel and went to (down) town… here’s the result.

4. A Chat With Falcon
Thanks to Twitter, I met former UCW Heavyweight Champion Falcon Coperis/current media mogul Louis Velazquez. The Champ interviewed me on his UCW Radio show about everything from Picasso to Musk… you can give it a listen here.

5. That’s Good Scrimshaw
Here are a few hot details worth revisiting:
- Michael Jackson, Inc. Book Launch Party at Forbes
- Speaking of Hollywood
- Collecting Artwork — the Semantics
- Jack Dorsey: ‘Uma is one of my Favorite Things’
Beyond work, I’m proud to report that my daughter Coraline is walking. Folks warn: “you thought it was difficult before?” — we’re currently loving every mobile minute.

Another newsletter? You got that right. I'll honor and respect your inbox, as if it were my own. I endeavor to share everything happening at Borbay Studios & Gallery. No daily updates. No weekly updates. Simply a message, every month or two... updates on life, creativity, and the journey that began on July 2, 2009. Let's be in touch, as the first leg of my quest reaches completion in 2026. From a studio in my 600-foot Upper East Side apartment living room, to a museum collection. Oh, but friend, that is just the beginning. The road is long, and I am looking for cool, sophisticated company to navigate each challenging turn.
You're here, and I love you for it.
