It’s not every day a Supermodel poses in front of your work… that is, of course, unless you know photographer, director and all around gentleman Remi Adetiba.
Remi’s pitch: I create a painting for a New African Woman Magazine photo shoot starring Africa’s Next Top Model host Oluchi. My response? Obviously.
Here is a behind-the-scenes video of the entire shoot by Remi… And now, for a few candid snaps, as well as details about the artwork.
So the day of, it was me, my painting, the model, Remi and his crack team. Oluchi likes to know who she is working with…
The scene unfolds in a photo taken by yours truly, as I lurked behind a clothing rack. Kidding, I wasn’t lurking.
This is the 48″X60″ Africascape painting… you can check the process here. Incidentally, this painting is still available.
As you can see in the video (soundtrack by the amazing Kuf Knotz — Twitter and Instagram) — I finished the painting on the roof the day of the shoot.
True confession, I requested both Remi and Oluchi dramatically bend their knees in this picture so I looked taller. They complied.
And here is the fabulous Oluchi gracing the cover… beautiful photograph by Remi. A huge thanks to New African Woman Magazine, and of course, my collaborators and everyone that contributed on-set. It’s rare to work with a group of talented, focused, timely and passionate individuals with such outstanding results.
