Live Painting For Charity, Broadway Bares, Planet Hollywood, Las Vegas

Borbay Broadway Bares by christophermichaelphotography@gmail.com

When you find yourself painting alongside the finest Vegas dancers in Las Vegas, live, at Planet Hollywood… it becomes a high-note on an already melodic adventure. Ari‘s chance meeting at The Welcome to Las Vegas sign lead to this particular charitable evening — Broadway Bares.

Our paintings were auctioned off, minutes after the show. In fact, I wasn’t able to get a proper hi-res photograph of the final painting. Here are a few action shots, and a blurry final for your consideration.

Set-up in the aisle with an impossibly bright, but incredibly helpful spotlight.

Painting a live event with fifteen acts proved to be a massive visual challenge. How to capture the flow without the ability to paint anything with clarity? Around this point, we were introduced by Holly Madison, which was cool.

The show took place on Holly Madison’s PeepShow stage… so that keyhole became a visual constant, the anchor if you will.

Trying to capture that electric Vegas theater lighting with a spate of reds, purples and pinks.

Finished, still on the easel. Painting in the dark means the big reveal is just as exciting for the artist as it is the eventual collector.

And the blurry product. Channeling my inner abstract expressionist for 70 minutes of pure painting madness. It was a terrific event, and I was honored to do my part. Be sure to check out Broadway Bares next year, in-person.

Great event, I purchased the painting at the auction after the event. Sorry I didn’t stay for the aftershow so you could get a better picture but I wanted to get the painting back to my hotel safe and sound. We’re still enjoying the painting and memories of the event.
