Erin and I spent the weekend chillaxin in Chester Massachusetts, population: few. We stayed in this sweet country house, which has the feel of a cabin, yet handles like a full blown house. After the jump, the painting process, along with the not-so-subtle note that this house and its 5 acres are for sale. Jump!
Erin and Claudia porchin’ it up, here’s the composition in photograph form.
Steve and me, a couple of good ol’ boys, enjoying the country air.
Starting out with an aggressive palette, all paint applied with fingers and palette knife.
Slapping in some greens and blues, building the composition out of the broad strokes of the under-painting.
Mmmm… I just love dark purple outlines, for serious.
More and more colors, focusing on the strokes and paint texture. Having fun. Keeping it Lohan-Loose.
The final. I must say, if this place does sell, it will suck for yours truly, because I love visiting. Anyway, if you want more details, hit up Claudia. I have visions of a hockey rink in the front yard.
Erin enjoying the bay window.
The first view of the house you see after you drive over the bridge (there is a sweet moat around the house.)
Some beautiful front yard light slicing through the trees. This is where I would build the rink.
Love these old lanterns.
Mmmm…natural BBQ.
For entertainment in Chester, head over to the Littleville Fair. Good times abound.
Ever found yourself wishing you could witness cows pulling big slabs of concrete? I no longer know what this mental/emotional void feels like.
Now that’s a fine country restroom.
Live music, the fair has everything.
Tractors, animals, music, food, it’s your choise!
